The 1950s. A time of great change and social unrest. Luk Man Fung, a young enigmatic letter writer is the ‘go-to’ man whenever people in Singapore’s Chinatown have a mystery to solve. As word of his exploits spreads, Luk is approached by a desperate ex-Japanese soldier to help find a woman who seemingly disappeared at the end of the Second World War. The only clue he has is a decade-old photo of the woman wearing a necklace with a diamond-studded pendant. Reluctantly, Luk takes on the case, and quickly discovers there is much more at stake than the fate of the missing woman.
