Sikh Watchman / Night Jaga with Charpoy Bed Figurine

SKU: SH022
S$80.00Price
  • Jaga means watchman or caretaker in Malay. During the 1950s in Singapore, many Sikhs were highly sought after for this position due to their imposing appearance and martial experience with the British military. As watchmen, they would stand vigil outside banks, godowns and shops to prevent theft and damage to property.

This miniature Sikh Watchman collectible figurine is accompanied by a charpoy, which is a hammock-style bed that they used for resting on when on night duty. For added realism, we weaved real pieces of string onto a frame!
