SKU: SH003
S$61.00Price
  • Samsui Women were Chinese immigrants who came to Singapore from as early as the 1930s. They worked as labourers in construction and industrial jobs to financially support their families back in China.

This Miniature Stories collectible figurine depicts the Samsui Woman in a classic red headscarf and blue “samfoo” (blouse and trousers). She is clearing soil at a construction site with a “changkol,” which is a mid-19th century type of hoe.
