Malay Family in Baju Melayu and Baju Kurung Figurines

SKU: SH021
S$150.00Price
  • Malays in Singapore have roots in the Javanese, who were one of the Indonesian ethnic groups that migrated to Singapore in large numbers from the Malay Archipelago shortly after the British founded the island as a trading settlement in 1819. However prior to that, there were actually thousands of indigenous Malays already living on the island.

This figurine set features a Malay family of three, with the father and son dressed in traditional baju melayu, and the mother dressed in a baju kurung. This is the official attire of the Malay community and is still worn today, especially during special occasions
