SKU: SH011
S$85.00Price
  • Majie (妈姐), whose name means “mother and sister,” were a special group of Chinese women who worked as domestic helpers in Singapore during the 1950s. Majie took a lifelong vow to remain unmarried and celibate in order to work and earn their own living independently.

This pair of Miniature Stories collectible figurines depict a Majie walking with a young boy whom she is caring for. She is wearing a black and white samfu and has her hair up in a bun – both of which were the traditional manner in which Majie dressed.
