Lt Adnan Saidi is a national war hero of Singapore and Malaysia. During WWII, he led his 42-man platoon against 13,000 Japanese troops and fiercely held them off from 13 – 14 February 1942, in what has since become famously known as the “Battle of Opium Hill.”
