Chinese Woman and Girl Figurines

SKU: SH007
S$85.00Price
  • Many Chinese women in Singapore during the 1950s wore a samfu (also spelt samfoo), which is the Cantonese term for an everyday two-piece outfit that comprises an upper shirt or blouse (sam) and a pair of trousers (fu).

This Miniature Stories collectible figurine depicts the woman in a version of the samfu that has a stiff mandarin collar and a nipped-in waist, paired with straight trousers of the same fabric. She carries a rattan shopping bag and is accompanied by a little girl in a pink smock dress.

They display beautifully with our Singapore Heritage Shophouse Model and other characters such as the Chicken Seller, to form a nostalgic scene of early Singapore.
