Traditional Chinese Lion Dances performed in Singapore usually include a big-headed clown, also known as the ‘Big Head Buddha.’ The performer dresses in monk’s robes and wears an enlarged head or mask that is crafted to look like a laughing Buddha. He leads and taunts the lion while dancing to the rhythm of the drums and gongs.
