Introducing Secrets Behind the Artisan – our monthly event series uncovering the untold stories, traditions, and passions behind master artisans in Singapore.

In our second edition, watch how puppets come to life under the masterful hands of Doreen Tan, Puppeteer and Founder of Ge Yi Ge Zai Xi Opera which produces entertaining Chinese opera performances. Hear her stories and watch as she expertly manipulates each puppet and breathes character into them through voice and movement. Don’t miss this rare glimpse into a disappearing craft!

To kick off the session, a sharing session by the talented artist, Tsuyumi Miwa, on her thoughts and inspirations behind her art collection “The Singapore Cultural Series” and her painting of the puppeteers from Ge Yi Ge Zai Xi Opera.
