GUIDED TOUR EXPERIENCES

The Chinatown Heritage Centre offers one of the most immersive cultural experiences in Singapore. In perfect alignment with SG Culture Pass, we offer heritage exhibitions and guided tours within a historical museum like no other.

 

Wander through meticulously recreated 1950s shophouse interiors spread across three levels. Explore tailor workshops, hawker stalls, and even the living spaces of Samsui women, Majies, and coolies. 

 

Every corner holds the story of a soul: the true immigrants who made Singapore multicultural.

Be led by a former resident who steps straight out of the past in 1950s, bringing the stories of Chinatown Heritage Centre to life through engaging storytelling and immersive performance.

Tickets are limited each day, so book early to secure your preferred date!

From 1 September 2025, eligible Singapore citizens can use SG Culture Pass credits to purchase tickets to this programme. Until then, no action is required from you to claim your SG Culture Pass credits—just sit back and relax (and don’t fall for scams)!

Alight at Chinatown MRT (Exit A). Walk along Pagoda Street for approximately 2 minutes. The Chinatown Heritage Centre is located on your left.​

Street Parking is available along Mosque Street and Temple Street. Alternatively, you can park at Chinatown Point or Hong Lim Complex, both within walking distance of the Centre.

Designate your drop-off location at Pagoda Street, in front of the Sri Mariamman Temple. Walk along Pagoda Street for approximately 5 minutes, and the Centre is located on your right.

  • What are the available time slots for photo shoots?
    You can schedule shoots before or after our opening hours (10am - 7pm). Special arrangements can be made for shoots during opening hours, but this is often subject to availability and surcharges.
  • Are dressing rooms or changing areas available?
    Basic changing space can be arranged upon request. Please indicate this in your booking inquiry.
  • Are corporate/commercial photo shoots or filming allowed?
    Yes, kindly fill up the request form here.
  • Is the space suitable for large crew shoots?
    Our venue is ideal for small to mid-sized photo shoots.
  • Who is eligible for the SG Culture Pass?
    Singaporeans aged 18 and above in 2025 are eligible for the SG Culture Pass.
  • Can I use the credits for guided tours or only general admission?
    You can only use the credits for guided tours at Chinatown Heritage Centre. We have our An "Under One Roof" Character-Led Tour Experience and An Insider's Look Heritage Tour Bundle eligible for the SG Culture Pass.
  • What happens if my total amount exceeds S$100 or if I don’t have enough credits to pay?
    You will have the option to top up using either a credit card or PayNow if you have insufficient credits.
  • Can I split the S$100 across multiple experiences in one visit?
    You can split your S$100 across multiple experiences in one visit if each experience is a separate eligible programme.
  • Do I need to show any form of identification when using my SG Culture Pass credits?
    No, you will not need to show proof of identity when using the SG Culture Pass to offset your ticket purchases.
  • Are private tours eligible for the SG Culture Pass?
    Private tours in Chinatown Heritage Centre are not eligible.
  • When do the credits become available and how long are they valid?
    The SG Culture Pass credits will be available from 1 September 2025, and are valid until 31 December 2028.
  • Is A/V equipment available?
    Yes, the following A/V equipment is available for rental if you need it for your event: Projector Portable speaker with 2 mics Foldable black chairs (50 pieces available, priced per piece) Tables (limited quantities available, priced at per piece)
  • What are the different spaces or configurations available for rental?
    Our Level 1 retail space and Level 4 attic space are both available for rental. Level 1 is ideal for larger gatherings and Level 4 is suited for more intimate events. Prices differ for each area — please enquire with us to find out more.
  • Are there any restrictions on the type of events allowed?
    Events of a political, religious, or illegal nature are not allowed. The management reserves the right to decline bookings at their own discretion.
  • Is the venue air-conditioned?
    Yes, both of our event spaces are air-conditioned.
  • Is the space accessible?
    Yes, the Chinatown Heritage Centre is wheelchair-accessible.
  • What is the maximum standing/seating guest capacity for events?
    Level 1 accommodates 50 - 70 seating, while Level 4 accommodates 15 - 20 seating.
  • What are the available time slots for events?
    Events can be scheduled before, after, or during our opening hours (10am - 7pm). Please note that events during opening hours will incur additional charges if the centre is required to be closed to the public.
  • Are the tours suitable for children?
    Yes, the tours are suitable for children too!
  • What’s the cancellation/rescheduling policy?
    a) Tour Cancellation by Participant We have a strictly no refund & non-cancellation policy once a tour is confirmed. ​However, we do assess each situation on a case-by-case basis and can offer alternatives such as a date exchange or an E-certificate. In some cases, we may offer a full refund. Please see our Terms of Use for more information. b) Tour Cancellation by Chinatown Heritage Centre If tours and activities are cancelled by Chinatown Heritage Centre, for any other reason, Participants will be offered a choice of a full refund or transfer to another date with open availability. In such cases, Participants will be notified by email using the email address that was provided at the point of ticket purchase. Please see our Terms of Use for more information.
  • Are photos and videos allowed during the tours?
    Yes, photography and videography are allowed, though we do request that you try not to capture other participants’ faces in your photos and videos.
  • Are walk-ins accepted for the guided tours?
    No, walk-ins are not accepted for our guided tours. Please enquire with us to book a session before your visit.
